T Stands for A Week in the Heat

Hi everyone. Happy new week to you. Happy July to everyone too, even if you stop by Monday night and it's still June. I know I say this all the time (about time flying that is), but I can't believe  July is here, we're into the second half of 2025 already.

It is time for T Day over at  Bleubeard's and Elizabeth's blog again. Last week at my house we had a mix of very hot and humid weather  (highs around 101 degrees F/38 degrees C) and some beautiful, not quite so hot weather. I'm not a fan of the high heat. For a few days when  I was sitting inside because it was too hot to go outside, I ended up watching a movie called Hitchcock from 2012 on Netflix. It was all about when Alfred Hitchock made the movie Psycho, and it was pretty good. Then I noticed Netflix had several original Hitchcock films in their line up, so I ended up  watching or rewatching The Man Who Knew Too Much, Psycho, and Vertigo.  Other than the clothes and other time dated styles, those films really do still hold up well.   I think I'm now back on a Hitchcock watching binge as there's a few other of his films on Netflix I wouldn't mind seeing again.

The other thing from last week was I spent some of my time up at my mother-in-law's house. This summer, like last summer, my husband and his sisters are all getting weeks  when the house is theirs. Last week was one of  our weeks, and since we don't live very far away, it was easy to go up for a while to take a swim and let the dogs swim too.

Of course the one afternoon I had invited friends up to hang out and swim it was cloudy and not so warm. 😒 We had lunch on the dock and some good catching up for a few hours, but then it started to rain. Luckily the rain didn't come until it was getting time for us all to head home, so I'm not complaining.

I need a drink for T day, and this photo is from one time when I was at the lake earlier this season, but it was not from last week. I don’t think I’ve shown it before, and it goes with my lake photos so here's my ticket to T this week.

Have a super T day, start to the new month and week ahead too.

We are big Hitchcock fans! I have enjoyed all those films. I love the clothing styles of that era, especially as Hitchcock had wonderful costume designers and set designers to make it all extra-real, not just ordinary.

If I could have 65-70 F daytime temps all year round, I'd be in heaven. That isn't going to happen in KS. You and your friends look like you were having fun and are a fun group. It was good to see Maddie and Pete, too.

Your beer was just what you needed for a hot, not rain threatened day. Thanks for sharing your time at the lake and your beer with us for T this week, dear Erika.

Yes, that looks like Snoopy to me, too.

Stop by the Cat when you have time, please.

I don't mind heat to a reasonable level eg 35c, although my skin cannot tolerate humidity. But having access to a summer house next to the lake is perfect. Thank you, mother in law :)

Spending at lake at this time of year is a blessing. This week is HOT over here..yesterday was 33C and today it's going to be 36C, some areas will reach up to 40C...I still went sitting outside to get some sunshine to get my natural vitamin D. It wasn't bad.

I agree... how can it be July already?
Here temps rise up to my liking, in France it´s a bit too much with 50C/122F, woods in flames and all... Crazy weather. Atm we have 16C/61F...
Oh, your lake is so wonderful!!! Have a happy start to July and a great T-Day, hugs

I tolerate the heat very well as it's a dry heat here in southern Spain. At the moment it's 38 outside and 27C indoors. It will get a bit hotter as the day wears on but I plan to stay inside.
It must be so nice to have a place by the water. You and your friends look like you're having great fun in spite of the rain.
I remember seeing that documentary film about Hitchcock on Netflix. Now I no longer have Netflix (I don't watch enough tv to warrant the expense).
Happy T-Day,
Lisca

A cool day at the cottage is always better than a hot day in the city! All the best - David

We also watched the Netflix film, Hitchcock, recently because of its two great actors, Helen Mirren and Anthony Hopkins. I knew a little about the film, Psycho, especially how Hitchcock wanted it marketed, but this film revealed so much more. Our library has the book that the film is based on and one day I may read it. Now, you have left me with plans to re-watch some of those classic Hitchcock films, especially as there are more warm days this week.

I'm sorry that the weather turned on your time with friends but I know you still had fun, just being together. I saw that some time ago -- should watch it again. I do love those Hitchcock films. TCM had some of his very earliest work on and I have the recorded but haven't watched yet.
